Marjolijn van Heemstra is a journalist, writer, poet and theater maker. But that’s not all.
Van Heemstra is more than just a poetic journalist. She leads the way by being the first to have her debut collection of poems presented not only in print, but on YouTube as well. The online collection was one of the first works of poetry that was truly pushing the boundaries of poetry, journalism and new media.
Her talent to turn triviality into small works of art brought her into theater as well. In her theater works she often questions the way our identity is determined by the era in which we live. While reciting a poem on the TEDxRotterdam stage, she will make you think about changing values that will probably lead your path to the future.
